Plain
|
|
Plain sight flow indicators are window-only devices. There are no moving parts to indicate flow. The unit may be mounted in any direction, but the flow is bi-directional. Plain sight flow indicators are used to detect easily-visible fluids, or the absence of such fluids. These devices are also used to detect color clarity and fluid turbulence.

Flapper
|
|
Flappers are sight flow indicators with a flap that lifts when liquid flows. Devices may be mounted either horizontally or vertically, and have an upward flow. Typically, flappers are used with clear fluids.

Rotor
|
|
Sight flow indicators have a rotor that turns when liquid is flowing. Devices may be mounted in any direction, but right-to-left flow is standard. Rotor-style sight flow indicators are designed for clear, translucent, or dark fluids.

Drip Tube

Liquid drips into the indicator through a small opening in the end of the device. Units are designed for vertical applications, and only have downward flow. Drip tube sight flow indicators are recommended for applications with intermittent gravity or extremely low flow-rates.

Full-view sight flow indicators are cylindrical. The full indicator can be seen from all sides.

Armored
|

Armored sight flow indicators are also cylindrical, but have supports on either side. Liquid flow is viewable from only the front and back of the device.
