General Specs

   Media Type:
   Your choices are...

   Liquid

The pycnometer measures the density of liquid samples.

   Gas

The pycnometer measures the density of gas samples.

   Solid

The pycnometer measures the density of solid samples.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
   Technology Type:
   Your choices are...

   Glass Assembly

A glass beaker of defined volume is weighed without sample (M1). It is then filled with the sample and weighed again (M2). The difference between M1 and M2 (=Mass of the sample) divided by the volume of the beaker is the density of the sample.

   Digital Pycnometer Instrument

This style of instrument is a digital benchtop or other mounted instrument with a local display or a signal output.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
Performance Specifications

   Specific Gravity Measurement?

Specific gravity is the heaviness of a substance compared to that of water, and it is expressed without units. In the metric system specific gravity is the same as in the English system. If something is 7.85 times as heavy as an equal volume of water (such as iron is) its specific gravity is 7.85. Its density is 7.85 grams per cubic centimeter, or 7.85 kilograms per liter, or 7.85 metric tons per cubic meter.

Search Logic:      "Required" and "Must Not Have" criteria limit returned matches as specified. Products with optional attributes will be returned for either choice.
   Specific Gravity Range

The specific gravity range the pycnometer can measure.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Density Measurement?

Mass per volume, usually specified in kilogram per cubic meter (kg/m^3). The density of water is 1000 kg/m^3 and snow density is usually measured as a ratio to this. So snow which is 100 kg/m^3 is specified as 100/1000, or 10 percent.

Search Logic:      "Required" and "Must Not Have" criteria limit returned matches as specified. Products with optional attributes will be returned for either choice.
   Density Range

The density range the pycnometer can measure.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Accuracy

A measurement of how closely the pycnometer can read each measurement.

Search Logic:      All matching products will have a value less than or equal to the specified value.
   Operating Pressure Range

The operating pressure the pycnometer can operate in.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Specimen Cell Volume Range

The volume of the specimen cell.

Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.

   Analog Voltage

Any analog voltage output. Output voltage is a simple (usually linear) function of the measurement.

   Analog Current

Often called a transmitter. A current is imposed on the output circuit proportional to the measurement. Feedback is used to provide the appropriate current regardless of line noise, impedance, etc. Useful when sending signals over long distances.

   Pulse or Frequency

Frequency or modulated frequency output (Ex. sine wave, pulse train, AM, FM).  A format that uses continuous physical variables such as voltage amplitude or frequency variations to transmit information.
