Your choices are...
| |
Alarming
Any of a number of methods used to alert the operator that a condition has been met or exists. Some types of alarming are audible such as buzzers or visual such as blinking lights.
| |
Auto Dialing
Auto dialing allows the RTU to automatically dial in to a non-dedicated phone number when data needs to be transferred.
| |
Battery Back Up
A battery back up is used in RTUs as a way to insure any stored data is not lost in the event of main power failure. It may, in some instances, also provide sufficient power to continue operation until main power is restored.
| |
Data Logging
The ability of the RTU to automatically record and store data as a function of time internally. There is an internal block of memory used to record and store this data.
| |
Differential Inputs
A method for eliminating electrical noise on small amplitude signals at the input to an instrument.
| |
Environmental Monitoring
An RTU that is used to monitor any indoor or outdoor environment such as weather instruments or dangerous gases in plant processes.
| |
Expansion Card
A printed circuit board that extends the operational capability of the RTU. This extension could be extra memory for data storage or additional processing power.
| |
Intrinsically Safe
Intrinsically safe refers to the ability of the RTU to operate safely in hazardous environments.
| |
Isolated Inputs
An isolated input is one where the electrical signal at the input is converted into an optical signal over a very short distance and converted back to an electrical signal.
| |
PID Control
PID Control or Proportional, Integral, Derivative Control, is a method used to tune a signal in a closed loop control system.
| |
Process Monitoring
An RTU that is used to monitor any indoor or outdoor process such as oil wells or manufacturing cells.
| |
Rack Mountable
The RTU has a form factor that will fit into a standard 19-inch equipment rack or enclosure.
| |
Real Time Clock
A real-time clock (RTC) is a battery-powered clock that is included in a microchip in a computer. The time values are for the year, month, date, hours, minutes, and seconds.
| |
Redundant RTU
A complete RTU that contains all the transceivers, encoders, and processors needed to function normally in the event the primary RTU is lost.
| |
Software
Any product specific software that is used during the operation of the RTU. This includes communications and system operation control programs.
| |
Totalizing
A totalizer is used to keep an accurate count over a long period of time.
| |
Weather Tight Enclosure
Weather tight enclosures are any enclosure that is constructed to resist moisture, chemical, dust or any kind of environment that would damage the equipment inside it.
| |
Other
Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary features.
