Standard units can withstand depths to 1,000 ft, and can be designed to operate to 35,000 ft of water depth. The typical stainless steel construction is suitable for operation in most fresh water or municipal markets, but Inconel is offered for saltwater use. The units "breathe" through the vented cable, and desiccants are available for unusually humid or moist areas.
