Compact and Powerful--the Surge Free 80 local service panel surge protector. This rugged unit, with an Ipeak of 80,000A, installs in shunt with the incoming power line to protect sensitive equipment from transients, surges and lightning. This compact, exceptionally capable surge suppressor is designed to fill the need when a plug-in isn't enough and a larger device is too much. Ideal protection for a single piece of sensitive equipment or at the local service panel.
The UL-listed Surge Free 80, using brute force 40mm MOVs, works by offering a more attractive path to ground whenever current exceeds the clamp voltage. Offers brute force protection for equipment such as CNC machines, industrial robots, soft start control systems, electronic adjustable speed drives, etc. The unit installs in shunt in less than 30 minutes and requires no special tools. In addition, in the unlikely event that the unit's protection capability is decreased, the Surge Free 80 has a green LED per phase that will extinguish, alerting the user that repair is needed.
Transients are vigorously shunted to ground in less than 5 nanoseconds; all modes are protected (L-N, L-G, L-L and N-G). Filtering of conducted EMI is standard. The protector is available for 120-277 VAC, 1-3ph, Wye, Delta and high-leg Delta. Enclosed in a NEMA 1 enclosure, the unit measures 7.25" x 4.25" x 2.75" and weighs 3 lbs. Delivery is from stock.
Comes with MCG's twenty-year, "No Nonsense" warranty. Unit meets or exceeds all pertinent industry standards including ANSI/IEEE C62.41-2002 and UL 1449, 2nd Ed. 1996
