Hospital Grade Industrial Receptacles

Hospital Grade Industrial Receptacles

Leviton's Industrial Produces Division has expanded its line of Hospital Grade Receptacles with new Power Light ™ Receptacles and SmartLock GFCI Receptacles These new additions complement the comprehensive Hospital Grade receptacle line. The new line includes Hospital Grade 15 and 20 AMP receptacles in standard Decora® Plus, tamper-resistant, illuminated, isolated ground, surge protected, GFCI and Four-in-One® receptacle versions. The New Power Light™ receptacle features a Power Light that meets UL 498 Hospital Grade identification requirements and that offers quick visual confirmation that the device in energized. The Power Light components are housed in a compact, fail-safe assembly. The Power Light circuit board integrates a green light in place of the traditional green dot on Hospital Grade devices, with a 100,000-hour LED behind the lens to confirm the receptacle's power status. The Power Light also features an exclusive V-shaped, serrated back wiring clamp for superior contact conductivity. The device is available in 15 and 20AMP standard duplex receptacle and Decora Plus modules. Leviton's new SmartLock™ GFCI is the industry's first GFCI to meet UL's new listing requirements for GFCIs. The SmartLock GFCI prevents resetting in case of line-load reverse wiring as well as when the device has been compromised and no longer provides ground fault protection. Like other electrical and electronic devices, GFCIs become damaged as a result of transient voltage surges or lightning strikes. With standard GFCIs, users may incorrectly assume that a GFCI device that has been rest is still providing ground fault protection when it actually may not. With the Leviton SmartLock once ground fault protection is compromised the device's lockout-action feature mechanically prevents the RESET button on the device from re-engaging, however, the device can still be tripped using the TEST button. This offers an extra measure of safety for users. For more information contact Leviton Manufacturing Company, 59-25 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck, NY 11362, www.leviton.com.
